Frequently asked questions – for on and off the court
How much does an individual lesson cost?
Please contact us at +65 9630 4319 or email [email protected] for lesson pricing.
Do you provide free trial lessons?
While we do provide a no-obligation trial lesson, it is not free and will be priced the same as an ordinary lesson.
Can I borrow a tennis racket?
Please inform us in advance if you require a tennis racket on your first lesson. We will then guide you on buying a suitable racket for subsequent lessons.
Can I bring a friend or two for my private lessons?
Yes, but please inform us in advance. We are likely to charge an additional fee for each additional person.
How can I book a tennis court?
If you do not have access to a condo court, there are also hotel and public courts available for booking. This includes hotels such as Four Seasons Singapore and Fairmont Hotel. Please check directly with them about rental rates and other booking conditions.
For public courts, you may book them through the ActiveSG app. Slots are released 14 days in advance, at 1pm, and 15 for verified users. You are allowed to book up to 2 slots per day per user.
Off-peak hours (7am to 6pm on weekdays): Rates are S$3.50/hour for Singapore citizens and permanent residents (PRs), and S$4.60 for everyone else.
Peak hours (6pm to 10pm on weekdays; 7am to 10pm on weekends and public holidays): Rates are S$9.50/hour for citizens and PRs, and S$12.40 for the rest.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you are unable to attend a class, please cancel 24 hours prior to the start of your class. Any bookings cancelled within the 24-hour window will result in a forfeit of the class.
What if the weather looks bad? Will my lesson be cancelled?
If it rains before a lesson commences and the court is too wet to safely play on, then the lesson can be cancelled without charge. This must be mutually agreed on with the coach at the time.
What if it starts to rain while I’m on court?
Your lesson fee will be prorated, or the full lesson will be charged and the remaining time will be made up during the next lesson.
What if I am late for class?
Arriving late will limit the time of your class. Should you be late, please inform us as soon as possible.
What should I wear to play tennis?
Play in whatever tennis kit you feel more comfortable in. Just remember to wear the right shoes – comfortable ones with a good amount of friction. The wrong ones can hurt your feet or may be more prone to slipping, causing foot and ankle injuries.
How safe is tennis?
While tennis generally has a low risk of injury, injuries do occasionally occur, as with any sport. We will, however, actively ensure risk of injury is kept to an absolute minimal by conducting appropriate warm ups, diagnosing and correcting poor or incorrect technique, and ensuring stray balls are moved away from players feet and the court to reduce the risk of tripping over.
